A'hoy Matey

We just returned from our week long cruise on the Carnival Elation. What a grand time we had.

Just imagine, leaving the cold of Utah, meeting famous folks, having your food prepared for you each and every meal, and twice a day our cabin boy would come and straighten our mess, turn down the bed and leave a mint on our pillow.

Loved every moment of this whole vacation.

Shawn got sick with a 12 hour flu bug, and then emerged from the cabin just in time to hit the beach in Cabo San Lucas.

We joined dance off's, watched karaoke, and entered some of the cruise ship game shows. We left with a medal of honor.

At ports we hit Cabo and went snorkeling, and went to Lovers beach; Encenada we saw the worlds largest Blow hole, and made it thru the gauntlet of street peddlers.

It's hard to name just one part of the cruise that we enjoyed the most, but above all that comes to mind is that I was able to share this first cruise with Shawn and my sisters. It will be a great memory to draw from, and one we can laugh over as the years go by.

Oh I wish I were in the land of DIXIE

My previous week was just too hectic, so after Sunday confrence.
I packed up the children and we headed south for sunny St. George, Utah.
Mom and Dad have a home there, and we all enjoy visiting.
St.George is such a beautiful place. The flowers were in bloom, palm trees tall and majestic, grass green and being mowed. What made this trip so nice was when we called back home
Pleasant Grove was getting hit by a spring snow storm. I felt no guilt while tanning my legs and letting the kids run and play in the comfort of a warm dare I say HOT spring day.
We spent one day full of adventure. While my dear mom took care of Finn, Grandpa and I took the other 3 hiking up to the red Cliff. This was so much fun, and so needed.
It never amazes me to see the art work of our Heavenly Father thru out our beautiful country.
I feel so blessed to call Utah my home, and to beable to venture into a place so majestic.

The next morning we took a tour of the St. George temple visitors center.

They have on display a sculptor who has about 15 bronze statues of Jesus Christ's life, and
popular Bible stories. What a talented women. She has only sculpted for 10 years, and was touched by the Holy Ghost to design this line. It will be traveling world wide, so if you have the chance, I recommend you to go and view it. We had a fabulous Sis. Missionary that was from the Bahamas. She has only been a member for 3 years, yet her testimony of Christ and our true Church astounded me. It was a great Testimony builder for me and Maddie.

We headed home on Tuesday and bundeled up half way home, cause the temp. was dropping fast. Today it was trying to snow, and that's okay.

We got a taste of summer and now we have curbed out craving for a bit.

Is there another adult in the house?

What is it about having another adult around the house. It's not as if he is entertaining us with his stand up routine. But just something about having my husband around makes the unbearable moments bare able; the messy moments laughable; and the boring times interesting. I have noticed that when Shawn goes away my routine is scrambled. I stay up a bit later, and the house stays much tidier. The laundry is washed, folded, and put away in the drawers. Dinner is a bowl of cereal.
Shawn is coming home tomorrow for a couple of days, which is just enough time to rowdy up the kids, leave a towel on the floor, and get a haircut.
The kids are excited to see him, and I am looking out the window, car keys in hand and a list of things I want to do with out kids. Who am I kidding, I will just go to the grocery store and flip thru Runners World magazine, and maybe I might just buy it this time.
