Blizzard

The weather men have been warning us for a couple of days of a blizzard warning.
With snow apx. 12 -18 inches!
Yesterday evening it started coming down.
Maddie tried her best to clear the driveway, yet the winds were
so strong that the snow drifts over took her efforts.
I took the warning and stopped at the grocery store, and the craft store
knowing that the kids would be home, snowed in.
My game plan to keep them busy:

* Wii
* Make Sugar Cookies
* Frost the cookies
* clean their rooms in hopes to find a lost glove, & hat
* play clue
* make snowflakes
This could be a L-o-N-g day. (did I mention Shawn is on-call)

As Shawn was leaving for work this morning at 6, he quietly
came and woke me up and asked if I could be his chauffeur
cause the roads haven't been plowed, the neighbors were
all stuck and there was No way that the golden bullet would ever
make it.

Ahhh living in Minnesota at it's finest.

Don't Hit me Chicken!

The kids got their school yearly pictures back and
I am pleasantly surprised at how well everyone
looks.
The older girls are showing their age.
Maddie being a 7th grader, her photo is a dead ringer for that grade.
I think time stood still, cause I have a photo of myself that looks so similar.
Kennedy had saved her outfit that Aunt Jayne had bought her, for this special
picture day. What you can't see are her legging with zippers, and a plaid skirt
finished off with black high tops.
The Reds were practicing at home before we went. Smiling, smiling smiling.
Taylor I just look at his picture and melt. He is such a love.
I am so glad for Digital photographers, cause is cuts back on having
to have retakes done. There were 3 photographers lined up.
Back in MY day, there was only one photographer in all of UT county.
The CHICKEN MAN. Really he would hit that rubber chicken on his leg and
holler in a weird voice, "don't hit me chicken" I was terrified that
chicken was going to hit me so I would grab it when it came my way.
I remember wearing my favorite shirt in 2nd grade. Pink with a collar tie.
And then in 3rd, I wanted retakes (Mom said No!) My hair had been done
in hot rollers, and I had a pretty flower in my hair, but sometime during
recess my hair got all tangled in the flower and that's what the photo shows.
Shawn has plenty of wonderfully funny school pictures.
My favorites include, pizza on his face, and bangs cut on a Super cool angle.
Now with technology, my kids may never have the joy of looking
back at school pictures and laughing at the awkwardness of it all.
