Blizzard

The weather men have been warning us for a couple of days of a blizzard warning.

With snow apx. 12 -18 inches!

Yesterday evening it started coming down.

Maddie tried her best to clear the driveway, yet the winds were

so strong that the snow drifts over took her efforts.

I took the warning and stopped at the grocery store, and the craft store

knowing that the kids would be home, snowed in.

My game plan to keep them busy:

* Wii

* Make Sugar Cookies

* Frost the cookies

* clean their rooms in hopes to find a lost glove, & hat

* play clue

* make snowflakes

This could be a L-o-N-g day. (did I mention Shawn is on-call)

As Shawn was leaving for work this morning at 6, he quietly

came and woke me up and asked if I could be his chauffeur

cause the roads haven't been plowed, the neighbors were

all stuck and there was No way that the golden bullet would ever

make it.

Ahhh living in Minnesota at it's finest.

Trim the tree....or just plug it in

What better way to spend a Family Home Evening.

Shawn took the older girls and they assembled the tree.

I took the two Reds and they helped me make Gingerbread ornaments.

I took this idea from my creative gal pal Brooke.

Heres the Recipe:

1/2 C. Applesauce 1/2 C. cinnamon: Mix well. Roll out on cookie sheet and press with a cookie cutter. Poke hole in head with straw for threading a ribbon threw to hang from tree. Place in 200* oven for aprx. 30 min. till hard. ( or just leave out over night)

The Reds had a blast making these, and they made the house smell like Santas bakery.Can you see the Magic of Christmas working?

What could have been more fun than to get Dad & Mom to kiss, and kiss under the kissing ball.

Easy as can be to create, and with enough razzle dazzle to Welcome in Christmas.
