Is there another adult in the house?

What is it about having another adult around the house. It's not as if he is entertaining us with his stand up routine. But just something about having my husband around makes the unbearable moments bare able; the messy moments laughable; and the boring times interesting. I have noticed that when Shawn goes away my routine is scrambled. I stay up a bit later, and the house stays much tidier. The laundry is washed, folded, and put away in the drawers. Dinner is a bowl of cereal.
Shawn is coming home tomorrow for a couple of days, which is just enough time to rowdy up the kids, leave a towel on the floor, and get a haircut.
The kids are excited to see him, and I am looking out the window, car keys in hand and a list of things I want to do with out kids. Who am I kidding, I will just go to the grocery store and flip thru Runners World magazine, and maybe I might just buy it this time.

And life gets CRAZY

I have neglected blogging for some time now, and so much has happened.
3 major items to note.
Shawn got accepted to the Mayo Hospital Residency in Rochester, Minnesota
Just as I was happily cleaning and storing the winter clothes for spring/summer. I now look at them and wonder if they are going to be enough insulation from the Canadian chill that keeps Rochester at a frigid temp. during the winter time.
Next last Sunday we were all enjoying our relaxing Easter day. The weather was nice and spring like, and so Maverick was out playing and so we thought smelling the roses. We then, packed up and were heading out the door for Grandma's and a blood scream comes from Shawn, in that fatherly voice, that tells everyone to duck and hide. I yet know what has unleashed this roar, and told him to take a 5 min breather before he attacks our little Maverick. I guess instead of smelling the roses, Maverick was practicing his ABC's on the truck paint with a finely sharpened rock. He was so proud of his M's that he informed us that he even did it on Dads, car!
Lastly, yesterday while I was pursuing a future home for us, we hear sweet Finn crying out side. Shawn goes out to get her, and Maverick was helping her onto the trampoline. He was pulling her arm up and over the tramp. rail, and as of today after X-rays and dr. visits she has a limp arm that she refuses to use. So today we are heading in for an MRI to get a better look.
To top this all off, Shawn left yesterday for on out rotation and we won't see him for about 2 weeks.
When life gets crazy, I try to remember it's making memories, and moments to learn from.

Sledding for Diabetes

My Nephew Connor has Diabetes, and so his medical

group has fun activities for family and last night we went sledding at Solider Summit. This was so much fun. A pulley would latch onto your tube, and drag you up the hill. Then you choose what course you want to rip down and before you know it your at the bottom, wind rushing thru you, and cheeks pink.

Me with Hailey. I only went with her once, and then she was hotdog'in it down.

All of us girls. Me, Becky, Hailey, Jaycie,Jayne, Katie, Maddie, Maycie. Kennedy was already going down the hill.

Shawn draggin Maverick to the sledding point. Shawn busted thru the barricades at the bottom more than once. And the tips of his boots were burned up, cause that's your braking method. Burn Rubber!!

At dinner there, were drawings and most of us one snow hats, and Sadie one Jazz tickets!!

What a fun night, and thanks to Conner who made this night possible.
