So today was Grandparent day at Mavericks Preschool.
The teacher had parents fill out a form, if Grandparents would/ would not be attending.
I checked No and thought nothing of it, till today.
I had to get Maverick out of class early, and so I peeked in and I see all these Grandparents cuddling, and playing, and singing with their grandkids. I am searching for Maverick and there he is, like a spot light is shinning on him. The ONLY child without a grandparent.
My heart broke in two.
I felt so crumby. I thought when I signed the paper, surley there would be others that would be without a Grandparent.
Ah the guilt.
I should have been there sitting next to him even if I am not "grandparent" material.
A vision kept rolling thru my mind today.
I picture all the kids in class getting so excited for their G. parent to arrive. As the G.parents start to come, each child jumps up and
is so thrilled to have G.ma/pa there. And I know Maverick realizes that we
don't have G.parents that live close, but I can bet that he was still looking
for HIS to walk thru the door.
When he came up to me at the door, his eyes were filled with tears and he
asked "where Grandma/pa were? I am supposed to sing
Halloween songs to them."
I quickly reminded him that they live in Utah, and have to fly
to come to Minnesota.
To this he responded, "I don't want to live here anymore."
And to that I agreed.
Dumb Grandparent Day anyhow.

Ready Aim

If you have ever been a pregnant woman, you know how difficult this is.
Today, I knew I had Lab work to be done.
They told me it would take around 1 1/2 hours so I thougth I better
use the potty before I leave. Surely by the time they get around to needing a "sample" I will be ready once again.
Well that 1 1/2, ended up being only 10 minutes later.
The male nurse took me to the restroom, and showed me a diagram on how to do this. (as if after 4 pregnancies I need instructions)
So I am now all alone, and no need to relieve.
I jumped, then laughed. Turned on the water...that always works when potty training. Nothing.
I am giggling in the bathroom, thinking..."maybe I should just stick my head thru the deposit cupboard and see if he can get me a drink."
Just a note to future moms...don't pee if you need to donate.
