ScooooooooRe!

(not a single picture turned out. sorry.)

Maverick has been asking to play soccer for over a year now, and his big day finally came to play.
We bought the soccer shorts, and shin guards, we bought water bottles, and pumped him up to have a "real" coach, and be on a TEAM. It's all he could talk about all day.
He ate every meal like it was a bowl of wheaties that would guarantee his best performance.
We showed up early to Soccer World walked in and met coach Kate (a girl) and she hi 5 Mave and gave Finn the okay to kick a few balls before start time.
Then when the whistle blew and it was time to begin....
He decided he didn't want to play and he was "just kidding us" that he wanted to play soccer.
And Finn ran and ran away from us begging to "Pleazzzze let me play soccer with coach Kate!"
It wasn't pretty.
We finally convinced the Reds to co operate. Finley came out of the arena, & Mave stayed in.
Before we knew it, he was dribbling the ball.....(with his hands)
Hi 5ing his teammates and talking smack with coach Kate.
He had the time of his life, and to watch Shawn watch Maverick was just as fun.
This ain't no ballet recital folks.....this is SPORTS!

Reward Day

On Monday we started a "rewards" program for Maverick.
He has had a problem with aggression, towards Finley.
This is playful aggression but non the less, after
tackling, spanking, wrestling and body slamming her
(we are putting the blame on Kung Fu Panda) we decided
we needed to intervene and so we made a Star Chart.
He made it thru the week, and our home life has been
a bit less ruff. Finley also had a star chart,
because whatever Maverick has she has to have.
So she also got a reward today.
Shawn took Maverick, and I took Finley. Before leaving
I asked Shawn to PLEASE keep it in perspective, this is
going to be costly if we do this every week.
He nodded and gave me the I know how to handle this look.
After our fun shopping, we regrouped at home and what
do I see....

I don't see a fairness in the rewards, its just a good
thing that Finley doesn't recognize that size makes a
difference, and when Shopping with Dad there is no limits.

I got my very own Singing show from Mavericks Pre-school class. He was so happy to finally sing for someone!
