He's One
Happy Birthday to our caboose.
We couldn't have asked for a better ending to our family.
Taylor Cougar Story:
A year ago today at about 4 am I turned to Shawn and poked him in the ribs and said...
"I think I am having contractions"
Him: "how far apart"
"15 min. (poke poke)"
Him: "they need to be at least 5 min."
"Okay" (duh, not thinking this is my 5th child he could just slip out if I wait till 5 min. apart.)
By 6 am.
I am fully awake.
Brushing my teeth thinking I can handle this. I am sure it will stop soon. I am not due for 5 more days, and I NEVER start on my own.
7 am.
I am back in bed trying to decided if its painful or not.
The contractions are still coming, but I can wait it out. They will stop soon
cause I NEVER start on my own.
7 :30 am
Shawn: "Should I go in to work?"
ME: "yeah. If it gets worse I will just drive myself to the hospital and call you"
kiss, kiss good bye.
7:34 am
on phone: " you better turn around and get me. There is no way I am going to be able to drive myself to the hospital."
Him: "where are you."
Me: "on the floor, I can't walk its toooooo painful"

Before I knew it he was busting thru the door, waking up Maddie to watch the kids and giving her instructions to get Kennedy on the bus, and feed Maverick and Finley.
We didn't' have plan worked out like whose going to be with the kids...
Pack a Hospital bag....
Camera packed.....
Nothing cause I NEVER start on my own.
Well this time I did.

Shawn maneuvered the freeway, and at the same time used his connections to get me set up in Labor and Delivery with out the paper work.
At Mayo there are bell men that wait at the entry doorway and as we cruised into the circular driveway, a 70 year old man came out with a wheelchair and was ready to be apart of our history.
Mr. Bell hop quickly took me to the elevators nervously chatting away as I labored in the wheelchair, and I think we were both thinking....
"please don't let me deliver this baby with this Bellhop in the Elevator!"

As we made it to L&D I was so glad to see they had the doors open and waiting for me.
I also remember them saying "this is Dr. McManus's Wife" so I used that and said,
"Yes. HE said to just take me back. No triage! This is my 5th baby and I know I am going to deliver NOW!"

Shawn made it up to the room shortly afterwards and started making the calls to family that we were going to have a Baby today.

Our Taylor Cougar came to us at 8am and has brought more love, joy and happiness to our lives than we could have imagined.

We couldn't have asked for a better ending to our family.

T W O.....
As we only have one day left till the BIG day,
I am thinking about some of the many 1st's that
Mr. T has gone thru.

*Rolling over. We all would gather around him and cheer him on as he
grunted and pulled with all his little might. Some times the effort was
just too much for Big Brother Mave, and Little Red could take and
they would give him a hefty shove to help him over.
*Peek A Boo. Such a simple game, but it has brought such joy for
both Cougar and each of us to play with him.

*Sippy Cups! He grew up right before my eyes when I watched him
drink from his Purple cup. Finley looked way to BIG to be drinking
from her pink one as she sat next to him.
*Drinking with a Straw. Thanks to Dene' & Brooke for telling me its now or never.
*Crawling. We would lay on our stomachs encouraging in him with toys, bottles and anything that sparkled. Tay would really take off when he saw Mom & my heart would melt that he was coming to ME. ---just recently its been fun watching him Monkey crawl thru the grass, cause that stuff is weird texture to a baby.

*Swings @ the Park = Belly laughs
*Learning to walk....in the process. We all hold our breath when he takes more than
3 steps, and we all look away when he looks up at us cause then he gets too excited that he collapse and crawls to Mom.

*Hugs. Taylor is a snuggler. He is always good for a neck squeeze after nap time, or when he see's any of his family laying on the couch he will sidle up next to them and lay his head on them.
I am so proud of these small mile stones that he has accomplished, I can barley wait to see what he will learn tomorrow.
My heart is full of Love for this little person who we are blessed to have in our lives.
