Say What? Snow Day!

Today I was awoken by Shawn calling me and saying that he heard

the girls school was cancelled due to severe storms. Maddie

was ready for school and waiting for the bus when

I told her of the news. I asked her to look out the window

and see how much white stuff was on the ground.

None she said, Huh I said. So we all settled into bed and

found a great cartoon to start the morning off.

The day progressed and no snow, by noon we were

getting a little flutter of snow, and a few hours later it

was a good dumping. I thought I heard the snow plows going

up and down the road, and then when I saw flashes of light

figured it was lightening and thundering. I have never heard

of such a crazy storm.

Well all in all it did turn out to be a snow day, but I think the

kids could have still had a school day.

I am preparing myself for tomorrow with Wii games, and videos

just in case they decided to call it a snow day again.

South of the Border

Its time for an update.

Shawn sent the kids and I to Mexico to break up the winter for us. He wasn't able to come with us due to his schedule at work. Theres always next year.

I didn't think that this trip would be all that much work. I have done solo trips to Mexico before and it all went smoothly. This time was great as all the rest have been. A bit more work due to the fact that I am 7 mo. pregnant and Finley and Maverick have enough energy to power up the engine of a 747.

We had a great trip. My two sisters and their families all drove to Mexico, and Mom and Dad were there waiting for us to arrive. We always like to crash their retirement trips.

Some highlights from our trip.

* Riding in an airplane! What is more exciting to a boy than flying faster than wind.

* Meeting up with cousins that you haven't seen for over 9 months.

*Seeing Grandma & Grandpa and Grandpa being so thrilled he found a secret parking spot at the airport..(it was a car rental holding garage! Free!)

* Eating authentic Mexican food. No fake stuff. All side street vendors.

* Tacos $1.25 stuffed full of yum.

* Beach

* Seashell hunting

* Sand dollar searching, and Kennedy finding a hidden Octopus in her giant shell!

* A heated pool.

* Sun, sun, sun!

* Seeing the President of the USA land his plane next to ours on the trip home.
