What an exciting time.

Maddie came in from shoveling the driveway, and was carrying a large Fedex package.

We checked it over and on the tag it said

From Santa

To McManus Family.

We were so excited, and perplexed that we just set the box on the couch and we all just gawked at it; waiting for Shawn to get home so we could dive into the package.

Shawn walked thru the door and Maddie grabbed a knife to open up the Santa gift.

Santa & Mrs. Clause had written a letter that informed us that they had chosen our family to

give the 12 days of Christmas to.

Yahoo!

This has been a huge lift to everyone. It is one of the most exciting things that we do each night.

Everyone is taking a turn to open a gift.

Maverick was a bit confused at the beginning wondering where the toys were that he had asked for...he now understands, and begs to open every gift. Patience little guy.

The first night we had to do some catch up and so we opened 3 days worth.

1st) Candy Canes

2nd) Nativity play board set, ( Maverick opened this and now thinks its his)

3rd) Santa mug, and hot cocoa packs to give to good kids each night.

4th) a Christmas tin with DVD and movie night stuff.

We anticipate each night and can't wait to open another present.

So to whom ever decided that our family would enjoy this, you are right.

This has been received with such joy and a wonderful Spirit of Christmas lights up our home each night.

Thanks to Santa for being so thoughtful.

A Christmas Tradition

I decided that I wanted to start a new tradition and so I bought tickets to take the older girls to see the Nutcracker. I thought this would be a great new Christmas event for our family to enjoy year after year.
We started our afternoon event off with a great lunch at Olive Garden, cause that's where ladies go for a special occasion. Kennedy asked if, "this is a fancy restaurant?" I said yes, and to mind your manners. So she then said, "well then you need to put your napkin tucked into your shirt." I tried to tell her it's also manners to put it on your lap; she didn't buy it.
We got to the theater and sat down ready to enjoy a cultured event.
Part way into the ballet, I find myself starting to get heavy eyed, and doze off.
INTERMISSION! Okay, wake up time.
Next comes the Sugar Plum Princess and Kennedy informs us about all the different sweets that each dancer resembles to her. Chocolate bar, Taffy, cupcakes this girl has a serious sweet tooth.
Then comes out the male dancer, and this is an eye opener!
First Kennedy..."Um I don't think we should be watching this. He is almost naked!"
Maddie...."Mom!"
ME..."Just keep looking at his eyes."
Kennedy...."I can't. Does he have to wear such tight clothes."
Maddie..."(snicker, MOM!"
Me...."Wow look at the girl on her toe shoes, Just look at that"
Kennedy..."I just can't watch him, when will he be done"
I am fully awake now. I am giggling with laughter. Some of the discussion was based on anatomy that I will leave to your imagination.
The lights went down, and Kennedy gave it a standing applause.
What a great day to spend with my two girls.
A Christmas Tradition....maybe every other year.
A memory to last a life time....and relive year after year.
